LBJ was just a stable enough that Oswald thought he was safe to whack Kennedy. (Subsequent presidents have learned this lesson and recruited the biggest doofus they can think of.) Johnson's signature achievement was putting his dong away long enough to sign off on some bills that the "nigras" wanted. So yeah, a great role model. A trailblazer.
