Best Blog Comment Sections?
Present company excepted, of course. Who's second place?
I'm asking about the peanut gallery here, not the site's primary content. And I'm including all websites, not just blogs. In recent years my reading online has narrowed a bit, but offhand the top of the heap for me would be those at Tim Blair, Neo-neocon, the Volokh Conspiracy, Ann Althouse and--I feel obligated to include--that pay-to-play site from which the unwashed masses here emigrated (tactful, eh?).
I could add Maggie's Farm but I haven't spent much time there lately and just checking it I see that their comments are relatively thin.
Another blogger with smart commenters that I followed like a bloodhound in the past was Megan Mcardle, but she's been hopping from site to site in recent years and I only check in with her when I see a referral. She's as good as ever though and when I visit I see she's still trailing some of the same clever people (Tall Dave is one).
Who would I choose? I thought you'd never ask. I'd pick Ann Althouse's comment section as the most consistently clever, insightful and funny. I usually only go there when Instapundit links her, but he links her plenty and I always see something I wish I'd said.
Well? We're waiting.
